Washington, D.C. — Today, Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) met with Ambassador Viorel Ursu of Moldova.
Sen. Budd said in a statement:
“North Carolina and the Republic of Moldova have shared a special relationship since affiliating through the National Guard State Partnership Program in 1996. Since then, the North Carolina National Guard and Moldovan Armed Forces have conducted hundreds of engagements together and new civic partnerships have emerged between Moldova and institutions like UNC-Chapel Hill and local Rotary Clubs.”
“I’d like to thank Ambassador Ursu for the opportunity to meet and discuss important security and economic issues including the ongoing impacts of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I look forward to strengthening the relationship between Moldova and the Old North State.”
