Washington, D.C. — Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) released the following statement ahead of President Biden’s State of the Union Address:
“Under President Biden, America is off course. Working families are struggling to pay for necessities like groceries, gas, and utilities, and their wages aren’t keeping up with inflation. Too many mothers and fathers are tragically losing their children to fentanyl, a drug that is flooding through an open southern border that is in a historic state of crisis. The Biden Border Crisis has allowed more than 5.5 million illegal crossings into our country, including almost 100 individuals on the terrorist watch list.”
“On the world stage, our country is weaker. Russia is emboldened to invade its neighbors, and the Chinese Communist Party feels free to send spy equipment over the U.S. mainland. A weak America leads to international chaos, and that’s the reality of the Biden foreign policy agenda.”
“Simply put: America is not better off than we were two years ago. I will do everything in my power as your Senator to stand up to the Biden agenda and fight to make life better for all North Carolina.”
